Anybody winging this board? If so I would love any feedback. What size? How's the construction? Any complaints? How are the tracks and strap inserts positioned?

Thanks!

I've been using the 5'2" Uncle Nubby as a one board quiver for surf foiling & winging for about 2 years. Well over 300 sessions between the two sports during that time. I'm pretty hard on my gear, and the board has held up well despite my attempts at ruining it. It's a perfect winging board for me at 160lbs/72kg. It's close to a sinker for me, and it took 5 or 8 sessions of spewing expletives before I started figuring it out. A couple of hundred sessions later, I can easily knee start it in any type of sea conditions. It's surprisingly good in lighter winds, too. If I have any kind of forward momentum at all, it pumps up off the water and onto foil. Mine is an earlier V1 version of the board, so no foot strap inserts.for surf foiling, it actually doesn't paddle all that well for me. Despite the relatively high volume, it seems to push water rather than glide over it. I'm thinking it's a tad too wide for the length.

Overall it's been an excellent board for me, and I'm likely to replace it with the new V2 version that's due in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Is the only difference to the v2 the strap inserts?

Amundson has been having a good sale on several boards and I just ordered the 5'2 for ridiculously cheap. Gonna try and make it double duty for prone and dinging. For the price I could not pass it up. We'll see how it goes. Good to hear about durability.

Check the Amundson website for details on the V2. A bit more volume in each size & a slightly different outline. I'm probably going for the 4'10". 56L seems about perfect for winging & hopefully it'll be a little better for surf foiling.
