Been riding the HPS 830/375 for a few weeks .. super happy. Then had a chance to grab a used ART 799 and boy was it a step up in responsiveness and tight carves (was only blasting in flat water due to wind direction this past weeks) .. anyone had experience riding both the ART 799 and the HPS 650 (I weight 64-65kg) and with which tail? Appreciate how the two fronts differs in turns/carving and top-end and with which tail(s). Thanks ahead guys!

375 is pretty good you may want to try the 350

Stanley I thought you didn't like the ART foils???

I dont like green eggs and ham, but then I do.

Good to see you trying new things mate. Keeps the progression going.

I really like the 375p with the 799 and 899, but then prefer the 350p with the 1099. The reason I like the larger stabs with the smaller wings is it gives a little pitch stability. The 1099 in my mind doesn't need much stability so smaller stab for responsiveness and slightly less drag.

I think my legs got levelled up over time to ART standards hhh ... nah ... last year I hopped on someone's ART899, did not like it and just went on riding my Naish HA1040 and then the Unifoils Hypers. Now that I been riding the HPS830/375 and an ART 799 came along and wham! it just works ...

No one tried the HSP 650 vs the ART 799 yet?

Would the 300 be too big a jump from the 375? would the +ve help out initially until legs "levels up"? Did have a chat with Olivia on insta and she seems to be riding her 300 with "almost everything" (I am a lightweight to tend to check out mostly what the pro ladies or kids rock) .. mentioning she opted for the ART 899 for wave winging as it's safer in fluky winds etc.

Can't get the 300 here yet only the 325 which we use for towing but yeah 300 is still 12" so it's not that small . The thing about Axis rears is they produce more lift than say a Uni flat tail chopped to the same length . Most rears are dead flat on top and foiled underneath so they produce no or negative lift , if you look close at the Axis they are foiled both sides which will produce lift , therefore you can go smaller without feeling like you've lost too much pump and stability, that's my take on it Adrian might have more to say on it .

Hi Piros! Thanks for the insight of the Axis stab foil profile .. I did have Unifoils race 18" chopped down to 14-13-12" and they all felt skaty on the Hyper 150 hhh .. Could it also be Axis has that 1.5 +ve lift as default on their tail end? Looks like I could pick one up at my local Axis toy store to have a go ....

Well you are comparing a top mount to a bottom mount tail . I converted an Axis 350 to an under mount on my Cabrinha . I was very careful to keep them both flat , so no to your question. You can't get a fair comparison because Axis won't under mount .
