Hi folks,
I (80kg, 1,80m) been riding my Unit 5m2 for a little while now and like it very much, but I must admit it is hard to hold on these windy days (18-20 knots) was have here few times a month. So I am looking at buying a smaller wing for that, and also hope my son (10 yr) could use it on light days to learn the sport. Initially I was considering the Unit 4m2, but I have heard that the Armstrong 3.5 m2 A-wing has quite a bit of power for its size. Also it appears that it is still the "Wild West" when it comes to determining wing sizes and 1m2 for Armstrong may not be equal to 1 m2 for Duotone (!?!). So my questions are:
- Is the 3.5m2 A-wing really 12% smaller than a 4m2 Unit? If you happen to have one of these models and can measure their cord length for me, I got a software that I could use to measure their "true" surface area.
- Is a 3.5m2 A-wing as power powerful as a 4m2 Unit (or even more powerful)?
- If you had to pick one, what would it be?
Cheers!
