the wind meter on swan situated on opposite side of peli point does not give accurate reading in a true southerly wind.

on wed i sailed next to it and wind was max 18 knots , at peli point some gusts had to be close to 30 knots.

it gets sheltered by the point in true southerly.

Wasnt 30 - 25 in the gusts maybe.

I am light and was carrying a 5.7, some others 6metres plus - wasnt over powered once -- but it was nice and solid.

It under reads in NW by at least 5 knots also. Maybe not for Peli Pt but it is 5 - 10 knots windier at Melville than the "Melville water" windmeter reading in a NW

30 knots?? I was on 7.0 with a 42cm fin and I'm only 77kg - admittedly I was rather powered up, but I don't think it touched 25.

I reckon it was 18-22 knots.
