Do we go south and play with the kiters?
Went for a drive to scarbs and car park is closed and no access to the beach. They're putting in a pool.

Well obviously in the public consultation survey a year or so back, the vast majority wanted more commercialisation, less beach access and a swimming pool right next to 100 bazillion litres of water.

Yeah right.

Nah Rider, I reckon this summer everyone goes just a bit north to make a point.

Apparently the Norfolks would like to make a point too at the grand opening of the pool, I think they still make polly waffles...

Nearly all the outdoor pools in Perth have been closed over the last decade or so - to make way for 'healthy' meaning no sunshine indoor pools.

Sunshine is essential for life is it not.

What's next - chlorinated outdoor pools at our beach to eventually be followed by chlorinated indoor pools at our beach.

Least they'll have a large window at the ocean side.

Some owners of horses take their animals to the beach to absorb the minerals from the ocean.

No probs, a potential win win solution

They find a shark in the ocean

Catch it

Release it into the pool

Every bodies happy

Building a public swimming pool right next to the ocean... that must be the dummest thing I have ever heard.

Red cross is out where we used to sail, south is where the kiters rig and park we could join them and go down wind but a lot of the car park will be gone therefore limited parking

Better parking a bit north and rigging on the grass

Or maybe the contacio car parks but the coast curves so its a tad onshore also not sure how safe cars are

Any reason why we cant rig up to the south where the kiters are and just sail down to the normal spot. Am I missing something or is it just the carpark we lose?

I'm thinking parking will be the big problem! It already can be busy on summer evening, and now about half the parking is gone. The northern car park is also half gone, and that is a fair old walk to the water compared to the usual spot!

Can you see those 'dunes' between the super wide sandy beach and the carpark in question ?

That land would make an ideal carparking area for beach people.

Those 'dunes' aren't natural, you know.

They were man-made, planted out with sh1tty scrub and filled with snakes.

lol.

just wait til the parking meters go in!!

at least a pool might stop people swimming right in the break when there are 30 + sailors going back and forth on a 50m stretch of bank.

Maybe we can get the council to add an extra 0 to the pool length and get a speed strip down there.

Went for another drive to Scarbs even more car parking has been removed. Also half of the lower car park in front of peters by the sea is gone and at 12:30 on a winters day there were hardly any spots left, they were used up by the people going to the cafes, and shops and accommodation there. City of Stirling have effectively reduced beach use for swimmers surfers kiters windsurfers etc just by digging up car parking areas, I think this will be a couple of years project. I will be using the triggs one and two car parks. Ideally the windsurfers should park and use the beach as far south as possible close to scarbs so the kiters will then go a bit north of us towards trigg and then we won't have to deal with crashed kites drifting down wind into us.
