Patience dear julius,,,da winter months may seem to drag and fat us up,but be assured da beast will unleash with all its fury with short notice to deliver the day you wished your smallest sail was smaller and your one day winter storm will live with you till the day you meet DA Huey,,,,

Winter is very good yachting time.... moderate wind. With a good crew can do it single handed and can put other hand to good use, no not that ..... I mean holding a cold can or a hot lemon rum and spices drink when it is too cold! Well getting a bit too fat too!

I am trying to make sens of SUP... why would you do it with no waves??? it looks so uncomfortable? Would be better to go on a sea kayak, can take a fishing rod and a few drinks even rig a small sail Sup = waist of time??? Please explain.
It is a bit like Nordic ski... you put you skis and go on the flat, as soon as you find a small slope it becomes so unstable that it is an horrible feeling... why bother???

I am stoked for you! make the most of it...
4 - 5 days of 30 to 40 knot winds would represent aprox
4 years worth of strong winds for here.....i think i have sailed my 5.5 3 times since xmas (only once well powered)
I have a 4.4 that is a 2006 model and it hasnt been used more than half a dozen times!
Not bad for a light weight in one of the worlds (apparently)Windiest cities

Be good if i could make a miraculous recovery..I can hardly talk or walk without coughing my lungs up ..grr going to Lord Howe Is in a few weeks so I was trying to build up my fitness.I better get well soon!
Off to the drs for antibiotics ( much as I hate the things). Oh well at least the other locals will be enjoying it!
Only the first day was 30 -40kts ( which for me is over the top anyway as my 3.3m would still be way too big) but definitely good 25 kts + for several more days.
I am looking forward to when the water warms up so you don't mind falling in! ( which I do regularly- another reason not to sail with a chest infection..
