I have narrowed it down to this area in the pink.

when i deattached it pretty much did cartwheels out to sea,
was the storm which brought 100km winds to busselton the week before should never of gone out in those condition with the wind blowing directly out.

Its funny because now i respect the sport and the people.
these last storms i drove around i the only crew out was some oldboys..absolute commitment they were out at penguin island surfing 5 metre swell 80 khr winds using 4.0 4.2 stormsails.
it gave me the appreciation and further understanding of the knowldge you will require to tackle this extreme sport.
I think that the level of comitment, fitness and understanding in storm surfing is certainly an attribute to the sport.
I hope when i am that age i will be able to go out and help the younger comunity understand the dangers of the sport as the older generation have helped me.
Nearly loosing my life has made me appreciate and respect older surfers and what they have to say.
If u choose to not listen and go out in storm with the wrong equiptment it can be fatal make no mistake about that.
