That's a great idea! You should talk to Tim, or whoever is running the kids windsurfing days and organise one!
Nice flat water at Melville on a sea breeze.

What size board, what size sail, when? My 12 yr old wants to sail, any gathering of same would be great. Already been sailing on starter boards, but sailing with Dad is probably pretty lame!
Hey scrondies, WWA hold a few kids sailing days over the course of the sailing season.

It it involves paying some membership money, but from what I've seen, all the kids have a great time![]()
Seems like you're right, 3rd December is the 1st race on Melville water. I'll certainly look further into that, how many others are thinking of getting their younguns' in?

The WWA Metro-Kids sessions are awesome, I took my daughter there last season and we're repeating again this year. I strongly recommend it and I'm hoping to pull 2 more families into it. Melville is a great venue.
As for the first session on Dec the 3rd, my understanding is that will be a standard gathering of kids and parents for training and tutoring purposes rather than for a "race". In my opinion, a race would be more appropriate after the first half of the season, so kids have time to learn. Bear in mind many kids still can't turn around or control the direction.
At the core of this initiative, the parent's involvement in all aspects is key to make it as fun as possible for the kids.
