This is my idea and I will put 500 bux towards it thru gero windsurf club, have emailed president and he likes the idea but feedback would be cool too.
Saturday comp, best forecast next march / April (5 days notice maybe) sunset beach
Each competitor gives themselves a ranking 0 to 5 according to ability
0 in the PWA or should be if it wasn't for wife / kids / job etc
1 can competently land forwards / backies goyters etc, local hero
2 land them sometimes, pretty good.
3 land a few forwards or back loops, not too bad, couple of aerials good / not great
4 love the sport, wave ride well, no loops
5 love the sport fall in a bit
So my idea is your score for 2 waves 2 jumps adds on your handicap for your score for each wave, so in theory you could beat jaegar (if competing) if your a five and sail your arse off.
$200 first $100 2nd
$100 for expression session all knocked out in first round to the sailor who goes out of their comfort zone
$100 for same for all remaining sailors.
if others want to sponsor this style event than the pot grows into something cool.
and hopefully a yearly event
dinner drinks somewhere cool after.
