It's now resting peacefully in my shed (tucked in under a blanky) after it's ordeal away from the Bent one waiting for the final journey back to it's papa

The board and a set of Brand new heavy duty board straps will soon be re-united

Was lucky i was bored and looking on gumtree for a new toy, the decription and the photo of the other one was the key..

Good to re-unite a loved board with it's owner... hard to find a board you love..

Ok guys this is how it happened.
I had come to the conclusion the board had gone... she had left me forever.
This morning I received a PM from PC Simpson saying he'd located my board with a link to an advert with it for sale on gumtree.com.au.
I called the number in the ad, left a message. Then called the local cops and was asked to come to the station to give a statement and more info (interrogation to prove without doubt the board was mine, it helped i knew every scratch, dent and accessory on the board)
Whilst doing this the "seller" called me back. I let him know I was certain the board was mine & I'd like it back.
He was a bit reluctant to part with the board that he was "selling for a friend & didn't know much about" (from the advert). He then had a little chat to Mr Plod and was very happy to drop it off at Reg's no questions asked rather than have the local plod come and collect from his house in Perth.

I can't thank PC Simpson enough & he'll be getting a box of some coldies for his effort (& thanks to the guy for eventually being honest).

it was interesting hearing Mr Plod explain "theft by finding" and then what happens if you might do "theft by finding... then selling"

The board was delivered to Reg's today and Elmo has started its journey home. Hope to be reunited with it soon.

and... thanks to Reg for accepting the delivery

And to all those who were on the look out for the sky blue wave wand, thanks :)

one happy Bender.

Didn't want to mention it to the poor bugger when it was still missing - but I always use two straps on the front of the board for highway runs.

Especially if it is a 700km drive to Esperance which will be firing, and sticking to 110kph may be hard

So is there any damage? flying of a car roof can't be all that good for a board, even with a carbon kevlar nose and tail

I haven't actually taken it out from the bag, the fin looked like it took the brunt of the force some hairline cracks around the base, looks like the board landed flat and slid.

Benderman will give a full diagnosis tomorow when he can stop caressing it
