We've had a big blast of cold weather bringing snow down almost to sea level in Tassie.....quiet a few sailors still braved the chill but Sunday midday was clocked at 4.6 degrees so that got us out of the water.
Think of us when you guys are burning in the WA sun![]()

Thrown in a couple of pics of Ralphs Bay which is one of our most popular sailing spots with Mt Wellington in the Background
Tried to get a ski in Sunday but the road was closed...got close to a meter of snow. The ski runs are nothing like Vic and NSW but still have a bit of fun if we go back country
That scene remind me of the late 70's back in Switzerland, we were sailing in that little lake, was beginning of spring (I was young and fanatical about windsurfing) the wind was freezing cold we had one of the old fashion 7 mm diving suit that we were sharing .... you know, the one in 2 parts with the pad on your crotch, had a hood, gloves and socks and we were breaking a thin crust of ice on the water surface, We had an old beaten up VW van bought from Swiss telecom for $ 500-00 and the beauty had a small petrol driven heater (independent of the engine) it was bliss to hide in there after a sail and drink hot tea fortified with 60% proof spirit! Had my trusty HyFly 111, ah memories!!!!![]()
