Hi !
I'm a french windsurfer travelling around the world for one year and I will stay in WA for 2 months.
I've already enjoyed sailing at Shoalwater and then at Lancelin last week (In Hole in the wall and Eddies last monday, it was so good !) video here:

I am currently in Geraldton until next friday and according to the weather forecast it will be good sunday and monday.

So, I don't want to fail my only two windsurfing days in Gero !
As the wind will be SSE, I would like to know which spot do you advice (I like waves and all 3 spots below look like excellent...)

- Point Moore ? (is Hell's Gates situated on the left or on the right when looking at the sea ? Is it actually dangerous ? Should I prefer Front Yards, or Kiddies Corner ?)
- Sunset ? Easier waves ? less dangerous ?
- Coronation ? The best spot ?

Thanks for your help !!!
Laurent

Hi Laurent
I have had a few sessions at coronations last season and had a great sail. I'd recommend it highly

Well thanks, I think I will go to Coronation tomorrow morning (if I'm still alive because I will try Point Moore waves this afternoon...)
Sunset is not working at the moment

Is the peak Hell's gates situated on the right or on the left of the chanel on this picture ?

Thanks

You'll know it when you find it
Just ask one of the guys on the beach, they will tell you where to go and where to avoid

Nice video BTW! I saw you out there and you were in the section a lot on a wave that is kinda hard to figure out sometimes.
Much better than the other two guys the same day chasing each other with Go-Pro on and consequently they forgot everyone else - fkn dangerous tools. Got sick of them gybing in front of me as I was about to make the drop on a wave and me taking evasive action. Like to see them post their vids

You saw me at Lancelin Mark ? There was only one windsurfer with a Neil Pryde and a Starboard, was it you? (who adviced me to take a 5,3 m²) and 2 or 3 kites.
Sorry my english is poor, what do you mean by "you were in the section a lot" ? Was I too deep inside ?

I have tried Hells Gate this afternoon but the waves where too small, it was very difficult to guess where the wave will break, I've only taken 2 or 3 good ones (with a nice bowl at the end), but there was not a lot of water under ! My fins almost touch the reef one time ! (with a Quad...)

Tomorrow I will try Coronation !

No that was not me, I was further up at main break but saw you at hole in the wall
Yes in the section was a compliment - the wave was difficult that day but you were always hitting the peak

Tomorrow have a look at Sunset, with swell coming up it may be good. But Coronation will be fine if Sunset is not working

OK, thanks !

I also went to Main Break in the afternoon, and I thought it was funnier than Hole In The Wall !! Waves everywhere, a bit messy but so fun !

Hey WindTrip,

I'm heading up to Gero this Thursday. What car are you driving, I will keep an eye out. Looks like it is starting to get pretty hot up there, fingers crossed the heat doesn't kill the seabreezes. Enjoy and nice gropro footage!

I have been asked to remove my video by the owner of the photos of Lancelin (those
taken by helicopter)

So... If an admin could delete my video on the first post it would be nice

I had a great windsurfing session today at Sunset !!!
Thanks for the good advice Mark !!
