WA crew,
i'm pretty new to the windsurfing scene, and in the last week i've seen a few people with wetsuit tops... or 1-2mm neoprene rashies... and they look like they keep the torso warm so i'm keen to get one. It'd be handy for the odd bit of waterskiing as well i reckon.
Where can i buy one locally? I'm north of the river - interested in all options. Surf shops that might stock them... KMart and budget options... anywhere/anything. Does anyone know where i can get one?
Any tips/reviews and good/bad experiences?
Hi mate
north of river try windforce who stock flying objects and south of river try windsurfing Perth they stock npx neoprene tops. Both brands good , phone first to check if in stock as it's the end of season.
It seems they are called 'jackets' in some shops if they are wetsuit rashies. Just discovered that . Surf sail in leederville.has neil pryde one that are smooth skin. These one keep you somuch warmer if you on the water rather than in it. Huge difference and they pretty tough these days. So you don't have to worry about nicking them.like the old smooth skin. Exel do a fanstastic smooth skin rashie but they are so hard to get hold of.
KiteSurfSup on Scarborough Beach Road had thermal rashies on the shelf last week. About $55 or $60 each. They looked alright, I would have grabbed one but I've got a stash of normal rashes and just double up if it's not quite cold enough for a wettie.

Fremantle based, had mine for two full seasons and i would recommend to anyone.
It wouldn't replace a full wetsuit in winter but for those months either side of our season i use it almost exclusively.
I have a long arm top for sun protection, it does not hinder your upper body movement at all.
Fit and finish is excellent, very thin and easily goes under my wetsuit in a full on winter southerly gale.
If you just want a rashie then these would probably be too warm, but this is the time of year to have one, check out their range anyway.
thanks all - i managed to find some at Surf Sail in West Leedy and the last season stock was on special so that was handy.
I tried the longsleeve 0.5-1/5mm ones but i found getting it on/off was a struggle, and i do a bit of wakeboarding/skiing so i went for the short sleeved 3.0mm Oneill instead. I wore it a couple nights ago and it was awesome for just keeping the chill off the chest now that the weather is cooling down a little. I think it'll be even better when the water drops 1-2*C and the temps are 20-25*C instead of the current 30-ish.
