Thumbs Up

Are you passionate about windsurfing and would like to see some of the following at your local spot:

An event that suits your level or type of sailing;
A windsurfing club, but don’t know where to start with setting one up;
Kick start the club that used to run regular events but without all the hard work;
More social gatherings so you can put names to the faces you see at the beach over summer?

Windsurfing Western Australia is currently running a recruitment drive and we are looking for Representatives from all the major sailing locations in WA. As a Rep you will be helping us develop and promote windsurfing in WA and especially at your favourite sailing location.

What is in it for me? you ask.

The satisfaction and enjoyment of running your own windsurfing event or group the way you want it run at your local spot.

Over the years it has become harder to run events and clubs due to requirements imposed by councils and insurance companies. This has killed off events and clubs as it all got too hard for the volunteers involved. We want to reverse this trend by sharing the WWA infrastructure and knowledge to remove the red tape pain. We can provide:

Insurance for your event (councils require $20 million indemnity insurance for events);
Assistance obtaining the appropriate permits (we have the contacts and experience);
Ticketing and event admin (we have this functionality built into our web site);
Assistance in promoting the event to our members and the community;
General support, assistance and guidance where required; and
Use of the WWA event equipment and trailer.

What does WWA want from me as a Rep?

The WWA committee is a very small team so it is impossible to organise all the events and gatherings people want to see on the calendar. This is where you come in.

We want to see people running the windsurfing events and gatherings they want, not what we think you might like. If you have the idea and a few mates to help on the day, we will help you.

What Now?

If we have sparked you interest, please get in to contact with us via email or any of the committee members you may already know.
