It's on again this weekend

Last year was a roaring success even though there was very little wind and negligible swell

Don't forget your SUP's if you've got them (and you can chuck a sail on them)

Just need the WWA crew to announce which day

I'll be bringing both my sups so don't forget your smaller rigs.

It would be good to get a heads up on the day but going off tonight's seabreeze I am assuming Satdy?

If it's light and southerly, the wind is much better up my end of the beach, rigging is just as good, but a tad less parking, (ranger has been known to issue parking tickets if you're on the kerb).
Means you have a tack up to the break though, but it is a downwind run back, and not as much chance of having to swim in across the bay.

The Avalon Amateur event will take place this Saturday from 2pm. We will meet at the car park on Westview Parade, Wannanup, Mandurah (Port Bouvard, North Port) but may relocate to the car park at Avalon Parade and Burna St depending on the conditions.

Yes please, your membership covers insurance but also gets you a t-shirt, some stickers. Membership gives you free entry to ALL the WWA events this year so after you have a couple of snags and a beer at each event the cost of membership is qucikly recovered.

Thankfully we have great support from our sponsors to enable free events to be run.

Please note LOC marathon is not a WWA event but the slalom on the sunday usaully is.

Had a nice sail out here today, but not with wave gear.
Unfortunately waves were only ankle to knee high most of the time with a waist high set appearing about once an hour.

Waves are forecast to pick up a bit tomorrow, but the wind isn't!

If it gets to 12kts and waist to chest high, I'll see you out there.

decrepit, maybe you could post a conditions report re swell at 12 noon?

i am happy to bring 2 x sups and paddles, but personally, if its not waist high its not worth the petrol?

Breakfast report.
2 sups out on 3rd break, 3 sups out at 2nd break, couple of surfers on the point.

Swell has lifted since yesterday, sups are getting knee to chest (if your a small person) high waves.
tide is low at the moment, so waves should get a bit bigger as the tide comes in, (no guarantees).
Wind is in the right direction SW at about 5knots.
Fingers crossed the wind gets stronger.

Be back around noon.

Good turn out considering the conditions.
SUPing followed by SUP sailing in a pleasant little swell.

Big thanks to every one for a pleasant after noon, also to the people who lent out equipment for the rest of us to try.
