08/09 Reports
Chairman’s report.
• We had good membership drive with members up from 47 to 120.
• All events went very well with no cancellations.
• Sponsorship from Stocklands and the windsurfing shops made it possible to have free entry to events.
• Slalom on Wednesday was a big hit as was the Little Down Winder in the river.
Treasurers Report.
• 2007/8 year financial records have now been audited
• Unaudited 2008/9 year (to 28 Feb 2009) presented to the meeting
Main points:
• Increase in membership revenue due to increased membership numbers (total of 216 vs 106 previous year)
• $5,500 sponsorship achieved
• No entry fees collected for competitions
• Competition expenses $4,500
• T shirt & misc expenses $2,200
• Net surplus approx. $1,400
• Surplus needed to cover higher than normal season closing party expenses (item appears in next financial year)
• Total current assets : $22,500

General Business
• Annual Membership Fee. Vote unanimously to be kept at $55 for the up coming season. Possible learner membership subsidy of $10 through the windsurf schools.
• Media coverage. Need to focus on new media rather than print.
• Membership drive. Paypal membership link on homepage, easy to access. Investigate colour Brochures that include a membership form. Put flyer on the website so members can print their own out to give to potential members.
• Events. Try and have bi-monthly events over winter. More guest speakers
• Event fees. Will be discussed at first committee meeting.
• Daylight Savings. Please vote YES!
• Web comps- pics – crash – video
• Informal event thread on seabreeze to encourage members to organise their own events.
