Hi everyone. This is my 1st real attempt at photographing Windsurfing & was also my 1st trip to Margret River. All-round, my wife & I had a fantastic weekend shooting the event & I hope you guys enjoy my photos. There is 268 photos in the Gallery on my website True Spirit Photos. For a first attempt Gordon you got some Awsome shots.
You can really see the difference in light from midday to late on and how that improves the images earlier in the day but then later in the day you get that amazing effect of the light penetrating through the breaking wave.
It was an Fantastic event, really well run and it's great to have some high quality images to remember it with.

a top series of photos, and I imagine you have some of everyone, which is great.
I love the ones with the light coming through the wave.

Hi Jonah & Windxtasy. Thanks for the kind comments. I really learnt a lot doing this event & will now spend some time trying to get some local shots ( Perth ) before I stop Watersports for this season in 4 weeks time. There is a lot of photos that I still have, that I wasn't sure whether to post or not as I wasn't really sure what angles etc. you guys were looking for when viewing Windsurfing photography. Views on the photos have been tremendous with over 70 000 photos from that event looked at. Cheers, Gordon.

TrueSpirit, they are great shots, you have talent. What sort of kit were you using. I liked the pix with the added content (i.e. 2 Sails, foreground wave for perspective) and the sailors shots on the beach (rough bunch). Great work!!!!

Hi BSN101. Really glad you enjoyed the pics & thanks for the compliment. Being my 1st time down there I was really surprised at how far the guys were on the boards. I was warned, but it took a while to get used to. I was using a Nikon ( Nikkor ) 400mm f2.8 & I added a TC 1.7 to help with reach. 99% of the photos were shot with that kit.

Thank you very much silvec01. I need to head down to local beaches now & just watch you guys out there & just learn how you guys go about doing things out there. Each sport offers new challenges & last night I was down at Scarbs & suddenly found trying to fit the mast in was interesting ( into frame of photos ) & the speed you guys come off the back of a wave is different & quick when focusing on the windsurfer him/herself. Just take a bit of time. Thanks again, Gordon.
