Hey guys,
can one sleep in his Car around geralton/gnarloo/exmouth without getting into trouble with the cops? Is Wildcamping possible or not a good Idea?
Chears Jan
you might want to promise that you won't drop any litter or poo in bushes around car parks... and that generally you'll be a lovely respectful camper..
Then everyone will be super helpful
You would get away with it depending on where you stay in Gero, I regularly see the ranger up early moving on the campers from back beach, the point, pages etc. The cops or ranger wouldn't be my concern, I would be more worried about the thugs.
No it is not a joke, the town is full of them
Raistlin you are not allowed to camp anywhere. You can only camp on the roadside rest areas when you are well out of town - if you are within 20km of a town you have to use the caravan park
(Except for council-provided camps like Coronation where you pay your $5 per night or whatever it is)
You got a car yet and figured out your windsurfing gear budget yet ??? ![]()
So I don't want to bang on about it but we are planning on heading over in December for a few weeks. Normally we would stay in the van but were thinking about taking a camper trailer and staying in a caravan park. Would our stuff be ok in the trailer at the park while we are out windsurfing? If its a rough town mabey we would be better off looking for a unit or house? Should we wear body armour?
Not that the "thugs" would put us off coming as Im sure 99% of the locals are super nice but it might change our acom options.
Stay at Sunset caravan park - 50m walk to a nice wave spot, and it is the north end of town so easy to get to Corro.
Everyone leaves their gear lying around and it is just fine - the sh!tbags are after more portable and easy sold kinda stuff. And even then I am not aware of anyone being hit at Sunset?
Don't worry the place is fine, but don't leave your wallet or mobile in plain view in car when parked in the middle of town - then again that is pretty much most places nowadays, right?
And don't go clubbing on the weekend
I have only been to Geraldton as a casual visitor. Stayed at Sunset both times. No problems. The managers there are excellent. One night it was really stormy and they moved all the campers into chalets as a safey precaution.
