Hi, looking at buying a set of S1 sails for sailing in WA as fancy a brand change. Usually I buy 4.5, 5 and 5.6 sails which covers me for most days sailing. With the S1's to cover the same range I'll have to buy 4.4, 4.8, 5.2 and 5.6. I think 0.8m between wave sails is a bit big as i don't like sailing overpowered on waves. So just wondering what S1 sails folk buy to cover WA winds. I'm 78kg. Cheers.

I've got 5.6 - 4.0, all stops. They all get used!

S1 normal or Pro?

Reason I ask is they have a lot of bottom end power, esp the Pro. Not quite as much range as say a Blade.
So u may need to be about 0.2m smaller than normal - depends what sails you're used to.

The S1 Pro is insane on a wave...... but I'd not drop from a 5.6 to a 5.0, the 5. would be seriously misbehaving for me by the time I get to 5.m weather. I have 5.2 and 5.6 S1Pro and thats a nice gap. But that's me at 100kg .... YMMV

At 88kg this summer I changed from blades to S1 This season I used S1 5.6 S1 pro 5.2 and S1 4.4 95litre board and 111 Litre board.
My most used sail (80%) was my 5.6 similar bottom end to my Blade pro 5.3 the Blade was set and forget for the day. The S1's required adjustments if the wind strength changed.

I had no issues running 4.4 to 5.2 adjusting them from baggy to flat gives them a good wind range.
The S1 pro feels so nice to use.

I just had a look at my records (I know a bit nerdy) when ocean reef readings were 26 to 28 gusting 30 to 32 I used 4.4m when ocean reef was 22 to 24 gusting 26 to 29 I used my 5.2m anything under this I used my 5.6m

I wish I was that nerdy, so I could compare my sails and wind strengths.
Demo time required.
