latest second hand purchase, Severne S1 5.6, very light and easy to rig, any tips or experience with this sail?
cheers Kevin
Did you happen to get that from 2wind? I got one of the 2 that were there. Nice sail but I cant really give much advice as im a newb.
hi bought it second hand from some guy in Fremantle, have used it once at Safety Bay and at 15 -20 knots it was great, over 20 knots it became a little difficult to control, which some reviews have said as well, let me know how you get on!
Know the guys at 2nd wind and was in Cocos last year with Jez and Amanda

I just got back from Safety bay today and was on the S1 5.6. You're right it went well in the 15-20 knot winds but for 25 knot gusts I had to increase the out haul and it went fine. It was my first time at SB and didnt see as much weeds as I thought there would be and so many Kite surfers.
I heard about that Cocos trip. it sounds awesome.
Also I noticed that the main batten protrudes past the mast even if I downhaul fully to the specs (429cm). To stop the batten from protruding I tried outhauling to 186 cm which is 5 cm longer than the sail specs. the batten problem is solved but the sail seems very flat. Have you come across this issue?
Cheers
Yes I have but only used the sail once so far, I've had trouble with an RRD wave sail also, same thing, might be worth doing a general post to see what others do about this
