I have to say that , in my personal opinion, i think this has been the worst week I have ever seen for Seabreeze's perth wind forecast.
be it the Doppler effect of some other strange phenomenon, those promised green arrows are like chameleons - changing the yellow as the forecast greens approach.
Wwwwww, waterboy
Move to NSW for, lets say 4 weeks... then realize the goodness that is WA when it comes to wind.
Home sick... you bet !
Waterboy, I've been on holidays in WA for the past 11 days....It's been nothing short of awesome. So far we've only had 2 days where we could not sail....Needed the rest anyway. You should try living on the east coast, you'd return back to WA real quick.![]()
Come up to Geraldton...It's been a blast.
Do you believe in the weather man?
So why would you believe in the Seabreeze forecast so much?
It gets everyone so excited and then just lets you down.![]()
I'm gonna stick up for waterboy. It said as of mon it'd be firin', alas the 4.3 had to be exchanged for the 8.8. I think I'm gonna stick to the daily forecast from now on otherwise I know the evil seabreeze crystal ball is going to shatter my hopes of 25kn arvo's all week.

The more wind you see on the forecast, the more often you come back to try to understand why there isn't really wind and the more you look at the advertising.
I'd say it's $eabreeze's good week?!
i used other sites and the but unfortunatly the maps were just as in accurate,
i believe there is sites used by the americas cup people but you have to pay and im pretty sure the accuracy is just as eccentric.
mabe its not the site its just a bad year for wind

It's true, no weather service is perfect, and one that claims to be is ignoring nature.
It's kind of like when you tell your wife you won't be windsurfing on her birthday , but then it get's windy on the day and you need to adapt. ... did this make your forecast of the days activities wrong, or has the situation changed? ![]()
When I started the site 12 years ago, there was no "internet", and it was built out of frustration of having nothing, and driving to the beach all the time. The forecasts (3 per day, numerous parts of the country, 7 days out ) are pretty close, most of the time.
Hope you find this article interesting, it shows the history of weather forecasting by humans...

Oh, and here's a nifty article to give insights into the forecast, and why it might not be perfect. Click on the forecast, and it takes you to the Synoptics..
This article gives a primer for Synoptics

well thanks for the hosting and everything laurie!!!! your a legend
You know the saying goes!!!
If the boys weren't complaining there would be something wrong
lol. I wish.
Ever from what I understand, YouTube, Facebook & Twitter all lose money every year (YouTube loses ~ $500 million each year)
If YouTube wasn't owned by the Goog, it would have vapourised years ago...
I see realsurf (a great aussie surfing forum) are trying to find a way to make ends meet & keep the site online by seeking $ from users:
forum.realsurf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16972
Leech/Mikey (Rider5) .. you've known me from the very start, and have been using the site for 10+ years .. how much $ should I put you down for?
(still need the paint job on that board you made for me fixed as well Mikey...
)
theWaterBoy's got a point;
why has the 7 day forecast been showing green arrows for most of summer, even on 37+ degree days? We all know from experience that if there's a trough, it's hot with no sea breeze.
Are the forecasters just having a bet each way?
Gratitude +1
I love seabreeze.
I remember the days when windsurfers would sit at the beach waiting for the seabreeze to come in. Sometimes it never did. Now we can plan our day knowing the approximate time the breeze is expected to be sailable and wait at home getting useful things done until the wind reaches an appropriate strength at our fave location, then hop in the car and go.
...and lets face it, even if there are only red arrows, with windsurfers being the eternal optimists they are, we keep coming back to check the graphs in the hope that things improve.
Hey Laurie, remember those days when Hardie, Reli, a few others and I use to run a riot in the forums![]()
I remember someone telling me that you thought that we would cause you to go under hahaha![]()

Seeing as I started this thread I think I should set the record straight a little.
Firstly, we all have bad weeks - the subject heading was really to reflect my observation that Seabreeze forecast is usually really - just the time that I started the thread I found the week bizarre in that each day started out with strong greens and ended up in weak yellows... it was bad in comparison to the good forecasts normally.
Secondly, I have to confess that I hate the site - which is why I feel obliged to check the forecast / wind observations and windsurfing forums every 15 minutes
Thirdly, in my opinion the advertising is 1) subtle 2) sparce and 3) laurie would be well within his rights and commecially it would make sense to thread the forums with advertising like many other comparable forums - realsurf comes to mind.
Finally, if the site did disapear I may get a part of my life back...
Keep up the great work....![]()
