After sailing in 10knots of wind at Melville I felt I needed a bigger sail for my 110kg.
I have a 7.8 Tushingham which nearly got me planning.
What is the biggest sail you can put on a 460 mast and a 220 cm boom

What board have you got??

You might be able to get a tad bigger however the small jump is not going to make much difference.

You really need a 9.2m if your board can handle it..

It is a Carve 131 litre with a 45 cm fin.
Would a change in fin size be a better alternative?

Alas you probably need a 490 for anything big enough to make a reasonable gap. There are some 8,6m ish sails that you can use with a 460 + big extension asa an alternative e.g. Severne Turbo, but most will call for a 490 as the primary mast and the extra stiffness will make more out of the light breezes. Whilst Chad may be right in suggesting a 9.2 for a better gap, that probably rules out most slalom booms.
