I punched a hole in my 7.8m sail Xmas eve after being overpowered and got catapulted on a gust of ahout 25knots.
I should have set up my smaller sail.
Anyway Kev helped me fix the 15cm hole with some tape from Bunnings.
Is it worth replacing the panel and how much approx would that cost? or do we just keep taping up the sails until they are worn out. I bought the sail second hand for $200 and it is about a year old Severn Lightning 7.8 with 2 cams.
It is my favourite sail especially in condition between 10 to 15 knots.
Santa did not bring me a new sail for xmas
I recently had a lower panel replaced by stuart bell sails just off stirling hwy for $110, good as new.
It was a $750 sail a few months old so was worth it, $200 sail? the clear fibre reinforced tape by scotch(bunnings) will hold it together well.
