I live in Perth and is doing Guy Cribb's course at Safety Bay in January.
I was thinking that maybe I'd be too tired to drive the hour before and after the day and maybe staying in Safety Bay could work out better. Anyone else thinking the same?
Is there any backpackers hostel there? Any cheap accomodation as I only need a bed and nothing else fancy. Is there a place where I can park my cabin boat (with toilet) and just sleep in the boat?

Starts around 9am, lunch on the go, and runs to near on dark..... each day, so its a full on sessions. If its a nice breeze period, than you will be knackered end of each day, happy but knackered. If its a very low wind period, then not so much, but he will keep you on the go full on each day ![]()
The drive was a pain each day as I came from North of Wanneroo each day. If you get a place to stay it would be easier.
Thanks Mineral1. I'm looking forward to it and have been trying to build up my windsurfing fitness. It is tough on the body though
It is amazing how much fitness is required to sail for 4 hours session - let alone the whole day.
Any other tips you have for getting the best out of the course? As it is a small chunk of cash - I want to get everything out of it.
I am still hoping someone will have better ideas for accommodation, but if not, I will book a holiday house ($150 p/n) there and talk the family into coming down for the weekend.
To get the most, be in everything he wants the team to do, dont hold back, try all he asks.
Get there early so you can practice the day befors lessons, helps. Rig set up is critical.
Even to the point I was unhappy with sail performace day two, he walked past as I was considering a sail change, glanced at set up, and said "more down haul, your settings are wrong" . By more downhaul he ment 10mm!!! He was correct of course. I couldnt believe by walking past and glancing, that he could pick a 10mm differance between good and bad rig set.
Take a cold shandy for when you knock orf
each day, lots of fluids and snacks to keep you going. You will be buggered, but happy with what he delivers. One of the nice guys in the sport.
