Calling all downwind specialists.
Fremantle Sailing Club has been in contact to see if Windsurfing would be keen to join in the Rockingham to Fremantle dash. If we get 5 sailors signed up they will create a fleet for us. You need to be a WWA member and have sail numbers - preferably the number issued by AWA when you became a member.

Yeah i'm keen. Its $20 for those who dont know. Although it is a worry that is says due to safety concerns, only over 18's may race.
:)
I've entered. Anyone else keen?
In the RB? Next you will be doing the LOC. Maybe a good idea.

My options are limited to RB. Are you and Marcus going to enter?

I am thinking of entering with my Mistral One Design. If the seabreeze is light as it often is in October should be fine at 1 pm and better on a raceboard with 9.5m2

Rich, thats a long way to go with your 9.5.
Having said that anyone know how far it would be? looks about 30km. then upwind on the way back...
HELP WANTED
Fremantle Sailing Club has requested assistance with providing Rescue Boats for the race.
Is the anyone out there how will not be sailing but could help out on the day with a boat? Or know someone who would be able to assist. A great way to view the Race and FSC will cover fuel costs.
I'm not planning on going back upwind...
Aaaww., why not. 30ish km down wind will only take 45min in a nice 9.5 breeze then coming home about 1.5-2hrs. But then you you could also sail through to majestic point.
Better still, sail there & back, good training!
I was just thinking the same thing madlad and spoke to the WWA pres.
There are a couple of companies who rent/hire PLB's
Adventure Rentals being one of them.

Thanks Stu. I will check them out. :)
In case anyone was interested in hiring a PLB, the cost is $55 for a day with a $200 deposit.
Cheers
M
Don't forget to look at the share link too.
If there are people around willing to hire/lend you can pick one up cheaper. If none available Adventure rentals will discount your hire fee

Fro what I read on the fsc page, they'll make a Decision on wed as to whether it's going to run or not.
The race rules sez they'll only start it if there's a seabreeze.![]()
Don't forgets
if the race is going ahead, the registration and briefing is actually at fsc dinghy clubhouse on Friday night 1800 hrs![]()
