Just saw this
- just to clear things up - I was giving the 1 finger salute to the wave in my frustration of mistiming my bottom turn (too late) and watching a perfectly good (and rare )wave go un sailed. The banks have been diabolical this year so waves and good ramps have been very few and far between. Hence my frustration.
The Surfer is fine and has every right to be there - in fact this guy is pretty good - he rides a wide mal (amongst a few other interesting boards)in small windy surf and probably gets more face time than the best windsurfers.
Yes it can be frustrating when surfers bee line for the peak we are sailing when its actually better up the beach
- but i think sometimes we make it look "surfier" than it is.
I worked with Folio box on a shoot last year (the King of the Cut downwind paddle race) and Neng takes some great shots!
Not the same quality as Neng's photos, but Steve jumped into the water with a badly set water camera (not his fault) to get a different angle.
I had a chat with a guy at the car park but not too sure that was you, Paul but thanks anyway.
Ok I Went down two times this week and lucky to get more photos
