Perth to Margareth River

Hi guys,

Just got to perth from Ireland today. The forecast is meant to be pretty good down in Margaret River over the next few days and was wondering if anyone is heading down that way from Perth, ofcourse willinng to go halfs on fuel money.

Geez dunno about that ... Sat had a SW'er for sure, but it will be gusty post-frontal which may be a bit WSW and up n down ..... and a 3.5m swell will be serious!!

I've sailed Margs at 5m easy peasy.........

However, dead side shore, 18 to 22kts, and Stayed on shoulder most of day, didn't have guts to go inside

Small print was really 4m according to BOM on that day was fn montrous big sets were mast and a half

Margaret river what do you want to go to that hell hole for? The locals are crazy, people steal stuff out of your car and the waves are just big close outs. You would be lucky to get a turn in.
My advice is go north, really far north. Or even the east coast. Even just stay in Perth it's way better than margs
