With all the money about to be spent in Onslow and the fact that its only just across the Gulf from Exmouth ...
is there anything, from a windsurfing point of view, that would make this a worthwhile destination?
The back beach in onslow has potential. All sand.![]()
A great place to visit .Caravan park is pretty much booked out with the grey nomads.
Have spent some time there.Great food at the pub and best fish /chips.
Old Onslow is worth a look - historical goal and town site.
Big gear would be the go except when a cyclone is in the area.
June thru Sept. has pretty big easterlie winds coming off the desserts. these always follow the big fronts down Perth way. Strong wind warnings are quite frequent. Also a bit to low for crocs but sea life is abundant so were there is food there is predators.
Trolling with lures about 1 km offshore in a 10 ft tinnie a few years ago when we realised a very large tiger shark (bigger than the tinnie)was following us.
Hard to make a getaway with a 5hp outboard.![]()
You certainly wouldnt want to be on a sinker and have the wind drop out.![]()
