G'day,

I'm still in the transition from newbie to intermediate. Bought some cool second hand gear recently to upgrade my gear a little bit but still getting by on budget items really.

I've got these couple of boards that are quite cool and i'm about to start using them instead of the big heavy learner boards i have... but the boards grip/pad thing is quite chalky due to age and the footstraps are close to knackered as well. I was wondering whether i could get some advice about upgrading these without spending big dollars? I'm worried about spending more on pads/straps than what the board is worth but if I can purchase them somewhere locally or online and replace them myself i'd be rapt. It would transform them from well used boards back to excellent condition if i could replace the straps and the pads.

Any tips would be awesome.

Thanks

Windsurfing Perth would have some S/H straps. I can imsgine other shops having some also.
The new ones may be rasonably priced too.
I like Fanatic and F2 straps a lot. Very comfortable.

As for the pads, I have seen some usrfull threads in the Seabreeze forums. Maybe search a bit if you don't get a response here.

Hi Gos,

My repair business replaces and modifies deck grips regularly and I also have some spares salvaged off damaged boards. Happy to help if you get stuck. We collect and deliver from WSP if they are handy to you so you have plenty of options for DIY as suggested above or made to order.

Cheers

Adam
