Moving to Perth, where it live

I am moving back to oz, after living in Boracay, Philippines for 7 years, where I ran my windsurf/kitesurf school. Yes I do both sports.

I'm originally from Sydney, but will not be returning there.

So I need some help on where to live in Perth . Near the coast would be great as I like to be near the beach for windsurfing, surfing and kitsurfing.

So would like some info on what suburbs to live(rent) in, but not to expensive.

LOL, you know this is Perth right? Everything is becoming stupidly expensive!

How close do you want to live to the coast (in minutes might help) and how much rent are you willing to pay?

I dont know much abouth southern suburbs (south of the city / river) but in the northern suburbs if you stick to the western side of the freeway you'd be maybe 10-15 minutes at most from a beach.

I guess suburbs around scarborough are pretty central but i cant imagine rent being cheap. Never rented but 3 of my mates pay $175pw each for a small unit in doubleview

Safety Bay / Rocko is almost at the southern end of the metro area and yanchep at the northern end. Both could be 30 minutes out of the city but we have poorly designed roads, public transport and even worse drivers. So you can sometimes double that.

I don't mind a 30 min drive to the beach or to the city, the places mentioned seem good so far.
But it all comes down to what the wife want's and the 6 year old, they windsurf as well.
So I do need a house.

Whats Boracay like? Was thinking of taking a trip there on my R and R

Boracay, Bulabog Beach,November to April is the main season, it gets supper busy with kiters from December to February, but you can always avoid them. Just go out the back near the reef.
Condition are on shore side on shore, flat water to bump and jump. There are waves on the reef but only go at high tide or you will lose fins, Winds range from 15 to 30 knots depending. Water is warm but not to clean some times.

From June to October the wind is on White Beach. Not as consistent. It has a mean little shore break, but once passed its flat water, bump and jump, or head out 1k to the outer reef for big waves. That's where I would always be. But make sure you go with someone,if you don't and something goes wrong no one will see you.
