Was a guy sailing through the pond area on Saturday weaving through people swimming laps. Normally can't be done but the tide was really high. I honestly can't think of a faster way to get windsurfing banned from one of the better metro spots especially as it becomes increasingly popular with the non windsurfing public. Wanted to say something but he was still out when I packed up.
It does surprise me these days that even on the sand blasting windy days people still go to the beach there. Up to us to make sure we behave in a way that doesn't jeopardize our future access.
I sailed Trigg for a bit then went to Metts for a late session about 6pm 4 locals out plus an unknown guy. What sail and board did he have.

Looked like a 1990 model board and sail, can't remember what
He was heading out last night as I was coming in I had a chat to him to let him know it was not the best idea to sail in the swimming area but he was not phased by it saying he was know where near them. I did not hang around to see if he took my advice but I hope so.
Talking to a friend who saw him, it seems he needs serious advice to protect him and others. He was using an old F2 sail and chest harness.

Ok cool, he might learn the hard way when the tide drops anyway
Chest harness? Sounds like a kook!
That's not on. If I saw someone doing that at my local windsurfing spot then I'd be making sure he understood and NEVER did it again.
GO BACK TO THE VALLEY KOOK!
