Hi everyone, I have lost a new sail on way to Esperance, it come off the roof of my van, to be a bit more accurate it was between Williams and Lake Grace, someone must have picked it up because when I stopped for petrol in Lake Grace and noticed it was gone i drove back to Williams to try to find it.
The sail in in a Red Severne 5.6m bag, the sail is a 5.6m orange, blue and chrome with a black mast sleeve, and fluro red detail, I made it last week and only used it once, it is one of a kind so will be easy to spot, I have photo's of it but cant post them on here, can text to anyone who has it or finds it to show it is mine.
If anyone see's or hears about the sail being sold or used etc, please contact me asap as this was one of the few sails I have which I have made myself and would desperately like it back..
Cheers
When I saw your photo on FB I was thinking how wrong it was to put your sails on the roof.
Hope you get it back.
Yer Greenroom, I pretty much am against sails on the roof but It was pretty packed inside the van, I need to sleep in there too, but I made room of sails now.. so bummed I lost the sail..
Stone your a bloody legend, stone seen it on a facebook page and hooked me up. The guy found it in he middle of the road a couple of Km's from where I noticed it gone, he must have not been far behind me, I should have it back by the weekend :)
Yes the windsurfing community is awesome and seabreeze is the best place to spread the word..
Made my weekend when a mate handed me my sail yesterday arvo, the sail is in perfect condition, the bag had a few small holes from sliding down the road at 90 but it did it's job protecting the sail. [:) so stoked that stone spotted it online.
Was it advertised as found?
Yes, listed as " found "
It seems that sail & PC were meant to stay together. ![]()
I'm not a fan or user of FB but it obviously has a couple of good points.
Earlier this summer while I was walking the dog at South Beach in Freo I spotted a very dehydrated Macaw parrot that was sitting on the dunes just waiting to get mauled by a dog or blown out to sea on the strong easterly wind that had been blowing for a couple of days. I managed to get it back to my car without losing a finger to it's sharp beak and took it to a bird vet next to Reggies shop in Myaree.
The young lady at the desk (obviously a FB user) managed to find the owners who had posted about losing one of their pet Macaws 3 days earlier about 5 or 6 kms from where I found it. It was meant to be that they got it back because if it had managed to get airborne again it would have most likely been shark bait out in Cockburn sound with that easterly blowing.....
That's 2 +++'s for Facebook - I haven't heard of too many positives about it though ![]()
