Are there windsurfers out there keen to get into racing?
Royal Perth Yacht Club is planning to run social racing on Friday afternoons as part of their push to build a windsurfing fleet for adults in parallel to the Bic Techno (I guess they will run adult Bic Techno too) development started last season.
If you are keen, let us know and we will get you in contact with the right people. A discussion is currently underway regarding how WWA members access RPYC etc. will keep you posted.

At RQYS we have techno's, rsx. formula, raceboard and now foils as well all off together on the one start. Works fine we just have a shorter upwind leg for the techno's so they finish with the other classes.

That sounds good
i think that would be the logical solution at least to get things going.
How many starters are you getting on average?
I will be trying to get windsurfer one designs (and anything else that wants to join in)going at Mounts bay which is next door to Royal Perth.
our racing is on Sunday's so it may be a case of sailing at both clubs... either way it's a start.

Steve, do you have one of the LT's yet?
And is this what you are indicating?
I have contacted John, and received some feedback. Would like to take a look if you are ever heading down to run the board

Hi Snides, I am applying for a membership at MBSC. I hope to be sailing my Windsurfer LT out of there as will be some others and also my IMCO MOD board. A friend of mine has joined the foiling moth class preparing for the 2019 worlds and he has several Mistral Equipes and F2 lightnings which he will sail as well. There seems to be an exciting time for windsurfer on the rise with the LT which will have over 15 boards in WA (possibly more) of which I have one on order. WWA is willing to assist in the process of establishing the Windsurfer LT fleet. To get racing happening in Perth (on the river as opposed to Safety Bay) WWA would need to affiliate with a club where there is a core group of members who want to sail. That applies to MBSC and if we can have the option to sail at RPYC as well that will be a plus. Can you please PM your email address or contact Tim Brazier direct, as Tim Brazier of WWA is seeking club contacts at MBSC. Thanks and Regards, Richard

Perfect MBSC logical place for windsurfing and windfoiling with foiling moth worlds 2019. Bring it on.

Might be a bit tricky getting in and out of there though...good tacking/gybing practice however.. ;)

Easy just walk a few meters and launch on the sea scouts side of the fence if an issue.
in any case we will be using big boards with lots of things hanging out of the bottom of them ![]()
Have sailed formula gear and foils out of mbsc quite a few times really not an issue getting in or out
It's actually really good for foils because of the sharp drop off in depth
I might rig and sail outta PDSC. :)
But youre locked out of the showers now?
I'll shower at home. Its just easier to launch there. :)
Hi, you have one of the new LT's ??
Mineral
From a Wally sailors point of view and from the view that we will be trying to get Wally racing up and going at mounts I would be more than happy to incorporate foils and other race boards into the start line mix. From a club point of view the more members the better.
I may be torn between the foil and the Wally but at this stage one design
is more attractive.
I'm interested!
Raced in NZ on Superstar a long time ago ..
.. have F2 LIghtning that I picked up last year and haven't sailed yet .. still a few bits to do and still wanting to get old race sails from that era to suit it (or maybe use the same as the Windsurfer/LT crew).
I'm interested!

Wally sail sounds like a good idea. I have newer NP Hornet for my RB. I like them too.

Yes, Wally sail will be good if I can track one down in useable condition.
Tried Lightning for first time on Sunday in good 15+ knot blow. Was overpowered with 7.5 Pilot (particularly with no footstraps or harness) .. but that might have been partly because I didn't rig it well. It's a work in progress!
