Hi Guys,
Just a reminder that if you enter the 2011 Lancelin Ocean Classic marathon not only do you get to compete with guys like Bjorn Dunkerbeck and sail in one of the world’s best windsurfing events, but you will also go into the lucky door prize comp to win an RRD Board of your choice and a Tushingham sail of your choice (this will be drawn at the presentations on Saturday afternoon at the finish line).
This is thanks to Jez and the guys at 2nd Wind Sailboards.
So why not enter today and have a chance of winning these great prizes.

I'm quite interested to participate to try and finish, other commitments permitting.
What are the requirements? I see on the LOC site that you need a sail number and buoyancy vest and flares. Anything else, other than registration?
I have none of these things. Could anyone advise the best way of meeting the requirements? What type of buoyancy vest? What type of flares, and how are they attached? Would the word pi do for my sail number, or does it have to be official? Maybe there are some gumby's instructions somewhere?
Thanks. I'll take that as the gumby's instructions!
The fog in my brain is clearing - the sail number is probably the LOC competitor number - not some other national KA type number?
Official numbers are always prefered but in reality any number will do as long as its not used by another competitor and it makes the sail easy to distinguish so they can record you going around the bouys.
Numbers are pretty cheap from moast sail shops (yaghting) and can be simply stuck on for the race.
In old days we just made numbers using waterproof duct tape :)
