Hi,
I'm trying to iron out a few bugs in my Gybing. I can pull off about half of them both ways now but I'm never on the plane when I complete the Gybe and they are far from gracefull.
Is there anyone that owns a good Gybing Instructional DVD/s that they might be able to loan me for a night or two? I live in Safety Bay and could come around to pick up and drop it off.
I can't find anything informative on Youtube.
Regards,
Dan
Hi ,
You might like to try www.mpora.com and put carve gybe or Sam Ross into search. The video is about 2 minutes or so long and gives a pretty good idea of hand, foot placement etc during a gybe. He also does one on the duck gybe.
go faster and carve consistently the whole way around.
Most people I see who fall off the plane do so because they carve until they're pointing downwind then try and get the sail turned around and stall.
If you carve the who way around the sail will want to flip by itself.
Also try moving you back foot further forward so your not digging the tail in and bending your knees.
guy cribb video is tops got me sorted i do have a copy but i'm in sydney

Thanks to everyone who replied.
The Beginner to Winner DVD is awesome.
And the other sites had some good info too.
Clew first sailing is definitely an awesome tip. And looking where i need to end up instead of at my hands and feet.
Gybes are certainly alot prettier.
Go Jem Hall!!
Peace.
