The missus has just informed me we are spending a week at Rotto in November. What are my chances of getting my sailing gear (1 board/sail) or my SUP on the ferry.
Has anyone tried? I would love to sail back on the day we leave. Dont think its gunna happen though
ferry no probs you just have to drag the gear around with you and pay the extra$$
you need a trolly to get your gear around to the good sailing spot
as the last bus is allway full and go past the spot about 4 45 pm
i have done it many a time and the sailing is great but transporting the gear sucks good luck
Yes the ferry is happy to take extra gear for a reasonable fee, but once it arrives you need to transport it to your accommodation and where ever you want to sail.
The bike rental place was talking about getting some bike trailers for transporting kayaks etc. Give them a call.
Thats what i was hoping for. I have a trolley that i will convert to attach to my bike. I think i will just take my SUP and just go surfing. My luck it will be honking SW'ers for the whole week
take a golf bag buggy / trolley.... the old ones that are like a folding "V" shape.
You can strap your board onto it, sails and boom on top and the mast becomes the drawbar of sorts.
pretty easy to transport the golf buggy trolley thingo with WS gear as it is not much of an addition
Yes mark i have made a trolley out of a old golf buggy and some old boom arms. i am now just working out how to tow it on my bike. dont think i can fit my SUP and wave sailing kit on it though

The missus is due in 8 days, so having a new baby in tow could hamper my TOW. Not sure if i will be able to sup in the mornings and then nick off sailing in the arvo's.
We can only hope.
Green sulo bin (wheeled) works well as an improvised trolley.
Just make sure it's clean first... and not chained down or likely to be used/taken while you are out sailing !
