Guys and girls,
Starting this season Windsurfing Western Australia and the West Oz Freestylers will be running a freestyle competition and clinic during the WWA event weekends.
The first one is coming up soon on the Mandurah weekend, 3/4th November.
The competition will be held on the non wave competition day with the exact format to be determined on the day. Turn out permitting both an old school and new school trick format will be run, giving anyone who can body drag no excuse not to enter!
Clinics will be held on the Saturday from 12pm until 2pm before the marathon, advice can be given for all kinds of tricks from upwind 360s and heli tacks onwards.
Any members of a state club can attend, if you can already do a bit of freestyle or are interested in learning the basics then get involved!
Feel free to ask any questions here or on the Facebook pages.

We will be announcing the timetable and locations for this weekends freestyle clinic and comp tomorrow once the forecast is more certain.
Its looking windy as so we expect to see everyone there.
Please tell any of your mates who can freestyle to get involved!!!!!
Despite never entering a comp before I'm looking forward to it but weighing nearly 100Kg the forecast is still looking rather marginal for me!! I'm still thinking of just entering for fun though and hoping my big wave board has enough volume to keep me afloat.
There's a high chance I may be relying on my light wind freestyle skills to get me through the heats and If I do catch a gust maybe I can impress the judges with some stylish Gybes!!
How many points do rail rides get these days??
If there are enough people to run a old school move format then a rail ride would score pretty high!
Hopefully wind comes through :)
Hi guys just to be clear on whats happening with the freestyle for this weekend in Mandurah:
Registration for the event is on Saturday at 12-1.30 at Novara Boat Ramp, 1 Dampier Ave, Falcon.
We will kick the freestyle clinics off at 2pm also at Novara Boat Ramp, these will be initially land based but hopefully the wind fills in and we can get on the water, so bring your kit down.
The freestyle competition will start at 11am meeting at the Westview Parade carpark at Avalon bay. It will also be possible to register before this if you can't make it for Saturday. Try to get down there early and all rigged up so we can finish before the wave comp starts.
Update to the schedule for this weekend:

A good turnout of freestylers at Mandurah. It was a pity the wind dictated that freestyle and marathon needed to be run concurrently because the marathoners would have liked to listen into the coaching clinic and watch the freestyle heats. I;m sure you were all awesome!
