Flights to exmouth

Does anybody know if you can take windsurfing kit on the flights from perth to exmouth

the big 400 series dash 8 ive taken gear on but i also looked into 8 and the smaller 200 and 300 series do also- am pretty sure
just dont cal it a windsurfer as their paper work/ts and cs says no windsurfers- they still think they got 5m masts
call it surfboard
cant remember exact legth but pretty sure up to 2.7m ok

jetstar and rex definate NOs- nothing over 2m

re rental vans- pretty sure i checked plenty car hire at carnarvon
if going off road need a britz type or no insurance= pretty exxy, but can save accom and get camper type
