Thanks for your compassion raggy.
Put it on the roof of my car while packing, and took off...

It probably fell off in the car park.
A nice flip bolt too. No need for a screw driver. sigh...

Bought another fin since. Learnt the lesson hard way...

If you lose something, make sure you ask at the hire trailer.
Anything I find, I hand in there. Also put a notice on Seabreeze.
Mostly, no one responds.
Ask a a few times over a week or so because if they have left already then it might not be handed in for a few days.
And,...., no I didn't find your fin. Sorry.
It's a bit rude that someone would keep it.

Also,. NEVER PUT ANYTHING ON THE ROOF OR BONNET OF YOUR CAR !!!!
It is an open invitation for disaster.
You are betting that you are smart enough to remember it before you leave.
It is a bet you are sure to lose often.

If you're tempted to put something on the roof, just throw it away and be done with it.
At least then you will have an approximate idea of where it went.

If you're tempted to put something on the roof, PUT YOUR CAR KEYS THERE TOO AND THEN YOU CAN'T DRIVE OFF WITHOUT IT!

Thanks guys.

re: never put anything on the roof.
I won't any more.

re: car keys
and the keys are good idea...

Sounds like you guys are talking from your own experience

I did ask Justin at the trailer, but no-one handed it to him, so it's a writeoff.
All is good, I have another fin now.

I learnt the hard way...but it could have been worse. Could have left the board...

Other people leave stuff too. Just this weekend, I've planted a forgotten screwdriver near the water tap. Also handed boom (mast) padding to Justin's helper.
Some months ago, I was hanging lost harness bits and a mast extension on display in Melville...
