HI everyone
I would like to start learning to do freestyle and I am wondering if board size does make a difference, Im 75kg ish.
cheers
Almost everyone i have seen freestyling has around a 100L board.
I'm 90kg and have a flare99. But i've seen heaps of people smaller than me on similiar stuff but with a 4.2m sail instead of my 5.8.
Get a dedicated freestyle or possibly a freestyle wave. Make sure you get enough volume.
Get out there and start trying to Vulcan, its awesome fun.
There is something very cool about being completely on the plane yet going backwards in the straps.
Thanx for the advice
I saw the JP freestyle wave had good reviews in a mag, does anyone have any ideas on them or should i just get any freestyle board that i can lay my hands on ?![]()
cheers
I used to be 75kg now closer to 80kg but have always used a 100lt freestyle board. I would definitely get a dedicated freestyle board will make the learning process much easier and faster.
I also agree!
I swap my boards every year and 2 years ago I bought a FSW 92L instead of a freestyle as my big board since I was going to passe more time by ocean than lakes and I switched it back to a freestyle, was way harder to nail tricks, so yes a freestyle board is easier...but not mandatory. As size matter, of course and A LOT!! I won't go for the 107 L at your weight, I think the 98L will be the best bet and also a freestyle fin, that stock fin is massive.
