Hey guys/girls,
My family and i are coming across to WA for 3weeks in early January. Just wanted to find out some dates when the Ledge to Lancelin race maybe on and some details on what you need to race in it? PFD ect... Also some of the best spots for speed/slalom, looking at Mandurah Peel inlet/Safety bay and a go somewhere in the Swan River?
marathon confirmed for 14 january.
Guess the waves will be the days leading up to the weekend and the slalom will be on the 15th.
We can show you around when you get here. As long as you don't sail faster than us![]()
Fastest spot in WA records is Pt Walter but it rarely fires.
Feel free to PM if you have specific questions and I can send you e-mail / mobile for updates.
Flares also needed for LOC but in past years you have been able to hire them on the day.
Thanks for the info guys. lao shi i will PM you closer to the end of the year and give you dads mobile ect. Hopefully WA gets there wind back in Jan, as we had one of the best here in Tas.
Weed fins are often used in the race not so much for the weed but for the cray pot lines. You don't see them until it is too late.

I would suggest a 30ish depending on board / sail combo.
yeah the race needs you to have a pfd and flares. i had a weedy for it and found it to be great as most of it was down wind, and there were clumps of weed. last one (only one so far) was 2009 though. cant wait for the next one ![]()
mandurah has some ok ocean runs if you know where to look, and the estuary is great, just dont land your feet on the bottom, and bring a weedy. let us know when u get closer.
