My change over board was stolen off the beach south of the groin at Dutch inn.Monday 29th. Its a 97ltr Carbonart slalom with a 30cm Vector weedy in it. Very similar to the board in the image above. In all the years I have sailed the Dutch I have never heard of a board being taken before so I am very surprised .There are not many of these boards in WA so if anyone spots it for sale or dumped somewhere could you let me know on 0414817583. They must have carried it up the stairs, amazed nobody spotted them.
Small chance it might 'reappear' today if a kid took it - I'll keep a look out.
Mate that sucks. It'd be surprised if it was another windsurfer. Pretty much everyone that sails there knows everyone via at most 2 degrees of separation.
I am guessing it was someone thinking they can make a quick buck. I would suggest you register the theft with the local police. They will ad it to their stolen goods database. I've had car with gear in it stolen in Sydney nearly 15 years ago and ended up getting everything back bar the kite gear (nothing lost there). The windsurf gear was dumped in an alley way and the cops tracked me down based the serial numbers.
Thanks guys. I reported it to local police on the off chance it gets handed in. I will put any of my change over boards in the back of the van from now on.
I reckon it was one of the WA slalom crew because you've been smoking them this year.
