Hi guys,

Looking at Friday and Saturday this week there looks a chance to get out for a sail, but i'm wondering where is the best spot to go for a blast on a NWer?
Any thoughts? I'd prefer the river somewhere if possible.

Cheers
:)

Melville or Pt Walter.
Anywhere on the southern banks really.
Shoalwater is also a fave amongst us southern folk on the NW'er

Melville.
Lovely long runs parallel to shore. WNW even better.

Seriously? NW on the river?

do maps no longer exist?
A tip - the northern side of the river is not good, the southern side will be better.

If your keen for a wave sail, try Wedge island. There is a section of beach facing south (left of Island) goes off about twice a year in the winter ( opposite tack to a SW). Waves will only be a couple of feet but good fun.
With a southerly swell and strong westerly this weekend I'm predicting it will be the go. There's 2kms of beach to surf, so there's plenty of room.

Haha thanks guys. Wedge might be a bit far for me this weekend, so you guys can have it to yourselves. Cheers for the info. :)

Sail at Shoalwater. You will learn more in 5 minutes than 5 hours on the river.

I was going to suggest pinnaroo in north/west only if you like sailng in a washing machine. Gr8 for bump n jump .
