Hi All,
Planning to come in December to WA to learn windsurfing. What places would you recommend for a beginner (with equipment hire and lessons)?
Thanks
the boys at peli point do a good job for lessons, but you cant beat Melville beach for the best learner spot on the river.
Thanks all.
I found that there is tons of weed in the water in Safety bay (windsurfwa.com/WA/spots.html)
Otherwise all the places look promising. thanks again
Weed won't bother you when learning, it is only once planing fast and it causes dramas on your fin... even then only sometimes. For the first year (?) you won't be aware of it
hey. i would strongly recommend pelican point, its in nedlands on the river behind the uni of WA. there is good windsurfing lessons there. rockingham at safety bay is good to and more so lancilin, probably the most windest place
peli point... warm water, sand bar as far as you'll go. safe - you only get blown onto the land, and there is lots of other windsurfers around to 'look out for you'
