Hello
I'm passing through Albany this weekend heading west, which beaches will be working best for waves this weekend?
Thanks in advance!
The western end of the harbor, launch from harding road where it says beware of quicksand.
You need a weedy though, this place is fast because it's flat, and it's flat because of the weed near the surface. I've no idea what the wind is doing there this weekend, but it really needs an easterly, the stronger the better!
Oh and the weed is abrasive, your fin may need a bit of wet and dry when you come in.
Saturday not looking great for wind but Sunday looking more promising, though hoping that strong easterly will come in earlier than forecast:

Sunday 9 February
Winds
Easterly 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 20 to 25 knots in the late afternoon, then easing to 15 to 20 knots.
Seas
Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 2 metres during the morning.
Swell
Southwesterly 2.5 to 3 metres.
Albany not great for waves. Lights Beach at Denmark probably the best locally for wave-sailing in easterly wind. There are a couple of spots around Albany that are ok for bump & jump ocean sailing. Try launching from Goode Beach near Frenchmans Bay or from end of Griffiths St (between Middleton beach and Emu Pt). Shouldn't need a weed fin at either of these spots and I will likely be sailing from Griffiths St beach on Sunday if wind cooperates! Apart from the flat water speed course that Decrepit mentioned, there's also a group of regulars that sail on the harbour near the yacht club over at Little Grove (beside Chipana Drive).
Thanks for all that fellas, sounds like you have plenty of options! I don't have a weed fin but will check the spot out for when we pass back through in a month... Great info Gazman, hopefully see you out tomorrow, we're in a black Delica with windsurf gear strapped to the roof, cheers
Updated wind forecast for Sunday looking even better:
Easterly below 10 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots in the morning, reaching up to 25 knots inshore during the afternoon and evening.
