i'd give sunrise or sunshine beach a look, the waves at sunshine are some of the best i've ever slid the boogey along. big and peeling when the conditions fire.

i have never windsurfed there though.

the stretch from sunshine down to coolum is the go. you will almost be able to find a cross shore location as the beach heads south. castaways is a popular windsurfing spot.

also check out this write up.

neil st on caloundra would be your best bet but if you want something closer to noosa try castaways - be warned though it isnt actually a place, but a carpark on the beach. a bit tricky to know where it is if you havent been there before.

or mudjimba can get great down the line if it is more southerly and theres a bit of swell

lol, it's been while i got to admit...... the BZ is still in the garage.

last outing was a long time ago at kawana and i got spanked.. didn't make it out through the break.

i should also clarify. when i say castaways is the popular spot, you may sail alone, popular in qld means maybe 1 or do others out at the same time.

You should come to qld more often best forecast we've had in ages, for both wind and waves!

As per Stribo...Pt Perron near Coolum is the best spot closest (15mins) to Noosa with SE for the next week forecast..just pretty hectic getting out given it's onshore and big swell running at the moment. you can sail out the mouth of the Noosa River in SE'r but you are in the lee of Noosa Heads so really need someone with a 4wd as the wind is better the further you get down northshore beach...is only onshore beach breaks tho.

Pick of the spots is Neil St at Caloundra, easy launch and big outer reef break and if the wind obliges and stays SE we may get side shore conditions on the point off Moffats Beach which is a short beat upwind from the Neil St reefbreak. Caloundra is a good 40 mins from Noosa tho.

If you need any help drop me a line e-mail address on my profile...as am on r&r from work at the moment. my wavesailing sucks but no probs to show you around any of the local spots on the sunny coast...Cheers

Another spot that seems to have fallen off the radar is Alex Headland. Especially with the prospect of 35 knot SE's on a 7m swell late in the week. I am to old of course but would love to see someone giving it a go like the old days.

Anybody got a jet ski any want to caddy?
