After a long winter we finally we made our way up North. As usual it never goes quite to plan... (last year the trailer broke down) but as a reward we had great wind, waves ( not the massive swell) but a fantastic time in and outside of the water.
I was super lucky to get the new Naish wave hardline 2018 to test when I was up there. The added video shows it was well worth bringing it up and made it an awesome trip to one of the best places.
Hope you like it- enjoy!
Brings back memories ..... love that place
Have a close look at 1:19 ..... what's breaking the surface and splashing at the right side of the screen?

Being used to scandinavian waters that is a very disturbing conclusion.. Driving to WA end of summer, I have a hope that's not from geraldton??
I'd say a shark munching on something yummy. Rather it be a Tiger shark than a white. and yes most likely a Tiger or could have been a mackie, tuna or a kiter

Would not worry about it. The reason I said what I did above, is the shark tag / track project a few years ago showed a great white shark went up and down the Perth coast 2 or 3 times a day. Just one shark. So that one shark would pass my local windsurfing spot every afternoon.
I suddenly realised in 20yrs windsurfing I'd have gybed on the outside, right near a shark, many times. Probably water started near a few.
I also saw a mate ride a wave many years ago, and a shark was under him for his whole wave ride of 3-5 bottom turns. He gybed off the end of the wave and went back out and the shark continued its course. It did not care about the wave slashing happening only 2m above it.
Not disturbing - I think its quite reassuring that they don't care about us.
EDIT: oh hang on, tourist? Yes all the wave spots have weekly, sometimes daily, shark attacks. Best to go to the river in Perth. ![]()

Hehe, thanks for the reassurance. And as for the tourist issue - paying Australian taxes and promise to only ride empty waves!;)
