so readers and friends, the funny thing about the "nerds" thread is that it got a lot of us discussing and debating beliefs or non beliefs, doubts, passions, intellectual rivalries and spilling of ones guts to the worldwide net and it was entertaining stuff!

how did it end up in wavesailing for gods sake??????

i'll just say God does work in mysterious waves.

and i thought it was interesting,.. entertaining too,
and seemed resonably well behaved, at least compared to some of the other threads ive read around here.

Because Nobbie posted that a brand of wave board had "Jesus loves you" written on the bottom of the board.

Unfortunately he didn't have the ball to leave his original post up so people could see where all the thread originated from.

nor did he have the intelligence to participate in the subsequent discussion. Out of 300 posts or whatever it was he came in twice made rude remarks and left again.

Yes I thought it was interesting to get an insight into some of the community.
It was reasonably restrained and civilized too but it was a bit like a lit fuse.
It would have been ineteresting to let it run and see where it went. A bit like running with scisors though.

Shall we start another one? [}:)]

I saw Richard Dawkins on the teev this morning. To me its heart warming stuff to see that there is some resistance to the retreat from reason. It must take some courage for him to take that position (of militant athiesm) in the land of the gun happy redneck.

Maybe he is possessed, or he is the prophet of Satan. [}:)]

He made a nice point - We are all of us athiests to some degree. There is a plethora of religions each of which denies the existence of the gods of all the others. Athiests just take it one step further.
