Wind went from 5.3 to 4.2 then back top 4.7 but we managed to get through it all.
Swell was all up and down. 35 compeated and 50 at the prezzos. Ben beat Pete Volwater in the elite final. Hoops won the open. Hoping for wind and swell tommorow![]()

Thanks again to Alberto from WINDSHACK and to everyone who turned up and had a great time.
Great to see a whole buch of new faces out there giving it a go!
Cheers from Windsurfing WA
For my first comp I really enjoyed the good vibes and to catch up with everyone. Thanks to those who organised a fun event. If only there were comps more often and closer to home.
Oh and Langy... You should thank your lucky stars that the wind dropped during our heat![]()

1st ever comp as well, big thanks to the organisers. We should organise small unofficial events at scarbs or metts when conditions are good, everyone put in 5 or 10 bucks and we can have ourselves a good day ![]()
We should also acknowledge the juniors who competed - those who are going to keep our sport alive when we're too old and too decrepit to get out on the water any more.
Kanza Stott and Matthew Gwynne have no junior peers to compete against so have to put themselves in the womens/mens open divisions. A daunting task for 16 yo Kanza and 14 yo Matthew. While their peers are following the mainstream, these guys are out on their own, driven by their passion for windsurfing.
Kanza did extremely well to win the Women's event.
Matt had some tough opposition in the men's open, coming up against the eventually third place getter in his first heat. A tough ask! Matt regularly pulls off clean forwards and backs. And check out some of his waveriding at Margarets recently in the photo section, a seasoned pro would be proud of the airs that Matt gets! This kid's got guts!![]()
Can't wait to see him compete at Margarets in the Nationals.![]()
