I'm looking for spare fins for my new Quatro quad board and want to have different feeling than original MFC fins I have.
Just wondering why sailboard fin setup has always longer center fins than side while normal surf boards have almost same size of fins no matter if its 4 or 3 fins.
Does anyone have explanation about this?
Because most people want some kind of straight line performance. A bigger centre fin will give you more punch to get planing and go upwind.
If you only care about turning on a wave then equal them all up!

Starboard went the other way with their quad but that didn't stick?
On surfboards the rears are generally smaller, not much though.
I think their is more to it than just straight line performance. You'd see more top riders opt for equal set ups for pure wave riding if it were the case.
I'm looking at setting my tabou up with thruster type to equal, say 14's and a 15?
